Caveat — I had no candidates in this entry.
This course has been designed to show serving teachers one possible approach to the assessment for Unit 2.
This unit works through the published examination paper and produces a solution in MS Access.
This course has been set up to explore the teaching of Level 3 relational database with staff teaching the subject. It is based on the SAM from the BTEC Level 3 Unit 2 which is now out-dated.
As the course assessment has changed then this particular course is not as useful as the new version. However it does go through a lot of database theory so can be useful for that.
This course is based on the SAM2018 published by Pearsons to assess BTEC Level 3 Unit 2. The assessment is a 10 hour database exam spread over a week.
The course goes through how I would approach the SAM and is provided free of charge. Although specifically designed around the BTEC assessment this is an idea introduction to Relational Database Management for AS and A level candidates as well.
The resources needed are available as a file from the Pearsons Website: https://qualifications.pearson.com/.
